White Filling

Most people have experienced a filling at some time in their lives. Fillings are necessary to protect cavities and now fillings can look natural too! Quite often people can be embarrassed by showing silver fillings when they laugh, smile or yawn. White fillings don’t stand out nearly as much as silver fillings.

Teeth Whitening

At Grove Road Dental Practice we offer a service where teeth are whitened to a lighter shade. This involves a process where the discolouration and staining is removed using a chemical application. It is an extremely safe procedure.

There are other whitening applications available and your dental surgeon will be able to advise you on the most effective treatment for you.

Dental Bridge

A bridge is a fixed and permanent structure that replaces missing teeth. It can be made of porcelain or different metals and it bridges the gap using your own teeth. It’s a very similar process to a crown and can take two or three visits to complete the bridge process.

Dental Crown

A crown is an artificial cap that fits over a pre-prepared tooth. A cap strengthens your tooth with a natural shape, restoring your tooth to it’s previous natural condition.

Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal treatment can save teeth from having to be extracted. The soft tissues inside your teeth called pulp – which contain blood vessels and nerves – extends from the root of the tooth up to the crown. The pulp can become infected or inflamed by wear, fracture or gum disease. . A tooth that has been treated in this way can function completely normally.

Dental Veneer

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is contracted to fit over the front surface of a tooth. They can sometimes be made from a composite for a more natural look.

Veneers are generally used for cosmetic reasons. They can improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth. A single discoloured tooth can be fitted with a veneer to match your other teeth. Or we can correct the height or shape of a chipped or worn tooth by adding a veneer. Veneers can also be used to widen teeth to close a gap or to reshape a tooth that doesn’t quite fit with the others.
